Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Induction e-module
Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are top priorities for the council. This e-module takes into consideration that staff and councillors come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and levels of understanding on equalities so provides a general overview as part of your induction to the council.

Fire Safety e-module
This e-module gives an essential overview of good fire safety practice at work. You will learn how to identify potential fire risks, and what to do if you discover a fire or hear a fire alarm. It mainly covers fire precautions in offices but it applies to all premises, except where there are very high fire risk processes in place.

Fraud Awareness and Prevention e-module
This a mandatory e-module for new starters covers five key areas to help you increase and refresh your awareness of fraud. It looks at the meaning and prevention of fraud, bribery, corruption, and money laundering, and includes guidance on what to do if you suspect irregular activity.

ICT Security and Information Security e-module
This mandatory e-module for council ICT users covers security policies and data protection. Complete it from start to finish or in stages. You will need to pass the assessment with 80% to ensure safe and appropriate information sharing.

Introduction to Health and Safety e-module
This e-module covers basic health and safety practices at work including identification, management and mitigation of risks. As most council staff are office based this course focuses on office environments. Employees who work in other settings will receive additional training.

Level 1 Safeguarding Everyone e-module
This e-module covers children and adults, including multi-agency working, best practices, and identifying and responding to abuse signs, whistleblowing, and handling suspected or disclosed abuse.

Modern Slavery and Trafficking e-module
This e-module covers modern slavery, trafficking, exploitation and sex exploitation. It outlines the differences between these issues, explains how to identify vulnerable people, and how to report and respond.

Personal Development and Performance Reviews (PDPR) for Employees e-module
This e-module explains PDPRs, their purpose, and how they help meet personal and organisational objectives. It emphasises personal responsibility for PDPRs and guides you through the process, so you can make the most of yours.

Prevent Duty e-module 2025
Access training courses on the Prevent duty, the threat from terrorism and extremism in the UK and how to support people vulnerable to radicalisation. Provided by the Home Office. There are different modules you can select once you enter the course.

Chief Officer Major Incidents Training e-module
This e-module explains how South Gloucestershire Council manages the strategic response to major incidents. It covers the National Occupational Standards (NOS) that ensures officers tasked to carry out specific tasks are suitably qualified and skilled to carry out their roles.

Council Incident Room Refresher e-module
This e-module can be used to refresh staff knowledge of the Council Incident Room (CIR). It provides and overview of the function and operation of the CIR, the roles within the CIR and reviews the use of forms and the action/information boards.

Decision Loggist e-module
The e-module explains the context in which a decision loggist operates. It describes the decision loggist role in an emergency response and their specific responsibilities, how to record the data, and understanding the difference between a decision loggist and a minute taker.

Humanitarian Assistance Centre Training e-module
This e-module is an introduction for South Gloucestershire Council staff and other Humanitarian Assistance staff to humanitarian assistance centres (HAC). It explains the types of council run centres, basic HAC requirements, and familiarises staff with public welfare needs.

Recovery Training e-module
This training aligns with the National Occupational Standards (NOS), ensuring officers possess the necessary skills and behaviours for their roles. The NOS framework has been used to create a detailed training needs analysis and tailored training packages for each emergency response role.

Rest Centre Diversity Awareness e-module
This e-module provides essential training for rest centre staff on gender identity and the trans community. It equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to ask about gender appropriately during registration, fostering respectful, inclusive, and supportive interactions.

Are You an Ally? Try Taking on These Five Roles e-module
An ally is someone who uses their position to empower, support and defend marginalised groups. This e-module will help you learn more about the five ways to be an effective ally - confidant, champion, amplifier, sponsor, or upstander and learn how to provide a safe and supportive space.

Autism Awareness
The training includes two presentations on the Autism Spectrum. Part 1 covers Autism traits, social challenges, coping mechanisms, and employment barriers. Part 2 explores Autism types, skills, mental health, disability models, support strategies, and notable autistic individuals.

Creating an Inclusive Workplace: Understanding Bias e-module
This e-module explores how we can create an inclusive workplace by minimising bias in the workplace. It will provide you with information, tips and tools, as well as further links to research or information you can share with others.

Cultural Awareness e-module
We want everyone at the council to feel welcome and understanding cultural differences can improve how we work with people with different religions, cultures and beliefs. In this e-module, we'll look at some of those differences and how to interact with people with different lifestyles, approaches and expectations to you.

Disability and Neurodiversity Awareness
This three-hour workshop is appropriate for all council staff. It will help you to explore and learn about different types of disability and neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism, their strengths. You will gain in-depth insights into understanding and supporting others, navigating the language, and reasonable adjustments.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Awareness e-module
This e-module will give you a broader understanding of policy, legislation and the practical application of equality, diversity and inclusion in the council. Council employees have legal rights and responsibilities and regardless of what your role is it is vital you understand these basic principles.

How to Identify and Stop Using Ableist Language e-module
This micro learning talks about the importance of language and how to avoid ableist language. It provides an explanation of what ableist language is and why it matters. Practical examples are given to help you avoid using it in your communication.

Learning Disability and Autism Awareness e-module
This e-module is aimed at managers and staff and partners who are considering supporting someone on a work placement and would like to have more awareness around learning disabilities and or autism. It will take around 90 minutes to complete and includes a range of video and resources.
