Equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are top priorities for the council. This online course recognises that staff and councillors come from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and levels of understanding regarding equalities issues. As part of the staff induction, it provides a basic yet comprehensive overview. This induction course is a mandatory e-module for all new starters, designed to give you a general understanding of EDI within the council. Challenging inequality and maintaining an equality-focused approach are key priorities, and you will have opportunities to build on this foundation with further development as you settle into your role.
This course serves as an introduction, covering key policy principles, the Values and Behaviours Framework, and information about staff groups. By completing this e-module, you will gain a solid grounding in EDI principles, preparing you to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
