• Course overview

Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire employees only.

This training session provides attendees the opportunity to explore and learn about disabilities in general, and specifically neurodiversity. From exploring what we mean by neurodiversity, looking at some specific neurodifferences, navigating the language, through to what we mean by reasonable adjustments, attendees will gain in-depth insights into understanding and supporting others, and even our own neurodifferences. Neurodiversity encompasses a range of conditions including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more.

The course will delve into these conditions, helping attendees recognise and understand the unique challenges and strengths associated with each. We will also discuss the importance of using inclusive language to foster a supportive environment. The course encourages conversation and discussion and uses case studies to explore the subject. These case studies will provide real-world examples and solutions, enabling attendees to apply their newfound knowledge in practical scenarios.
