This course is open to Early Years Practitioners working in a nursery or pre-school with children aged 2-4 years. You will have a passion for supporting children to thrive in communication and language. You will have the drive to take on a leadership role within your setting to lead the communication and language and share your knowledge with the staff team.
Becoming a Language Champion Autumn 2027 (EY665)
Eligibility: This course is open to Early Years practitioners working with children aged 2-5, we will prioritise South Gloucestershire settings and childminders.
A four-session course training early years practitioners to become language champions, focusing on communication-rich practice, supporting neurodivergent and dual language learners, and using storytelling creatively. The course builds skills, inclusive strategies, and opens ongoing CPD through the local language champion network.

Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Settings, Childminders, Reception and Nursery Class Teachers, SENCOs, Salt Professionals Children's Centre staff and Outreach teams.
This new introductory workshop is designed for early years professionals who want to create calm, engaging and inclusive environments where all children can thrive. Makaton Helps children connect, express themselves, and feel understood, even before they can speak. The goal is to give practitioners confidence and tools to use Makaton immediately in early years settings.
Makaton Level 1 Workshop
Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Settings, Childminders, Reception and Nursery Class Teachers in South Gloucestershire.
This course is open to anyone interested in exploring Makaton. Level 1 training is the starting point for learning Makaton. Participants must complete level 1 before progressing to further levels, you must be aged 16 or over and be a resident in the UK at the time of training.

Ofsted Changes to the Inspection Framework Briefings
Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Settings and Childminders.
From 10 November 2025, Ofsted will be using a revised Early Years inspection framework, featuring a new report card, a five-point grading scale, and expanded evaluation areas. This one hour virtual briefing provides an essential overview of the changes and their implications for practice.
