    Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Settings and Schools

    This one hour virtual session provides an opportunity to join online to watch or refresh some Makaton signs and symbols that are freed to download on the Makaton Hub www.makaton.org.  Makaton Sign and Share promotes inclusive communication by encouraging people to use Makaton signs and symbols in everyday life.  We will be looking at some key themes throughout the year.  This focus of this session will be Autumn, Halloween and Bonfire Night.  This is not a certified workshop and will not be recorded. 

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will:

    • Understand that being able to communicate is one of the most important skills we need in life.
    • Have a clear understanding that Makaton is a unique communication programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to enable people to communicate.
