Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Settings and Childminders

This one hour virtual session will support practitioners in deepening their understanding of babies' sensory needs and how these influence their behaviour, development and well-being.  During the first two years of life, babies are rapidly making sense of the world around them through touch, sound, sight, movement and more.  This session explores how to create environments and experiences that are sensory-rich, yet not overwhelming, and how to tune into each baby's unique sensory preferences.  With no expectation to interact, participants are invited to simply join, listen, and reflect - either individually or as part of a team.  The session offers valuable insights into sensory development, practical strategies for responsive care, and a take-away task to support continued reflection and discussion.  Whether you're new to working with babies or want to revisit core principles, this gentle, informative webinar will enhance your understanding of what it truly means to meet babies' sensory needs.
