    Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years SENDCOs and Managers

    This SEND surgery is intended to equip delegates with an understanding of the importance of working in partnership with parents and carers.  This will support when communicating with parents, other professionals and when completing paperwork.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Strengthened skills in working collaboratively with parents to understand and meet children's SEND needs.
    • Practical strategies to engage families effectively, ensuring their voices are heard and valued in planning support.
    • Guidance on building trusting relationships between settings and parents to improve communication and joint decision-making.
    • Support in co-producing individualised support plans with families, enhancing consistency between home and early years settings.
    • Increased confidence in SENDCOs to advocate alongside parents and navigate local SEND processes together.
    • Access to local authority resources and services to better support families as partners in their child's development.

    There is no charge for South Gloucestershire Early Years Settings to attend this session.
