    Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Settings, Childminders and Schools

    The DfE sustainability and climate change  strategy for education states "By 2025, all education settings will have nominated a sustainability lead and put in place a climate action plan".  Together we'll explore what the guidance says, celebrate and reflect on your current practices, identify opportunities for growth, and consider ways to strengthen partnerships with families and communities.   Sustainability leadership and climate action plans in education - GOV.UK.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will:

    • Have an understanding of the Department of Education's (DfE) sustainability leadership and climate action plans initiative.
    • Have increased confidence in understanding climate change and how positive change can be achieved.
    • Create a culture that prioritises sustainability within your setting.
    • Share effective practice with other education settings.
    • Work towards creating an action plan.
