    Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Language Champion settings only

    This in-person language champion network session offers Early Years Practitioners an opportunity to deepen their understanding of how best to support children who are minimally speaking or pre-verbal.  Through a blend of current research, reflective discussion, and practical strategy sharing, participants will explore inclusive approaches to communication and language development.

    This session is designed to empower Language Champions to reflect on their practice, connect with peers, and enhance outcomes for all children through informed, inclusive and evidence based approaches.


    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will to able to:

    • Identify and reflect on language used when communicating with parents and carers about children who are minimally speaking or pre-verbal.
    • Recognise and challenge common myths and misconceptions surrounding minimally speaking and pre-verbal children.
    • Describe key principles of Gestalt Language Processing and consider its relevance in early years practice.
    • Share and evaluate practical strategies to support communication and language development for minimally speaking children.
    • Collaborate with peers to build a supportive network of Language Champions focused on improving outcomes for all children.

    There is no charge for South Gloucestershire Early Years practitioners to attend this session.
