    • Support for employees

      Change is a part of life and work but that doesn’t make it easy to deal with. The council will support you through change and help you adjust to new ways of working. A number of tools and resources are available to help you. Below you will find details of the getting that job workshop, e-modules and guides designed to help employees through different stages of change.

      Getting that job workshop

      This half day workshop organised for staff experiencing change will help you to build the skills needed to perform well during the recruitment process. We will cover limiting beliefs (negative thinking) – how to manage them so that you can achieve your goals, skills self-assessment to identify and apply your transferable skills and experiences, key points to help you create a great CV, application forms and expression of interest letters, and interview preparation. 

      Personal reactions to change e-module

      We know that change affects everybody differently and that, for some, it can be difficult to adjust to changing circumstances. This e-module will help you to understand the impact of change on you and other people and explore ways you can manage change effectively.

      Resilience and wellbeing e-modules

      We have a range of evidence based and engaging wellbeing and resilience e-modules that you can work through at your own pace.


      Job applications and career development e-modules

      Our collection of e-modules can help you improve how you create applications, enhance your CV and prepare for interviews.

      Expanding your CV and skills

      The council learning and development website offers a wide range of training. You can also use OpenLearn and FutureLearn for courses that expand your work-related knowledge or new areas of interest. These free sites offer short courses from universities at introductory up to Masters degree level. If you are thinking about different areas of work or want new training to put on a CV investing time in your learning and development can be time well spent.

      Support for leaders and managers

      The support you give as a Service Director, Team Manager, or first line manager will be the most important for anyone experiencing change. Make sure you are prepared and have all the support you need. Below are links to support to help you lead your team through change and to equip you and your team with the skills needed for the future. The learning and development team offer a mix of online and in person workshops, e-modules and digital aids that are aligned with change projects.

      Manager guides

      Bespoke support

      The learning and development team are experienced in supporting teams and services through change. They are available to work with managers to help them develop bespoke interventions to support their teams and will provide signposting to resources, and coaching where appropriate.
