This three-hour course will help you to gain knowledge of terminology and legal aspects surrounding medicine administration. The workshop will cover principles, complications and risks associated with administering medications, responsibilities and reporting.

Assessing the Needs of Autistic Adults (for SW practitioners completing assessments under the Care Act 2014)
This course is for practitioners who assess the needs of autistic adults. You must complete the Oliver McGowan Autism and Learning Disability e-learning before attending.

Court Skills for Adult Social Care Practitioners
This course will help you to increase skills and confidence in writing court documents. The course includes an overview of courtroom etiquette and processes, essential evidence recording techniques, key court forms, and completing Court of Protection forms.

Direct Payments
This half-day course will increase knowledge and understanding about Direct Payments (DP). It will build your confidence to promote DPs to people who have care and/or support needs to enhance their wellbeing and independence.

Epilepsy Awareness
This course is for staff in the council and the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors and work with people with epilepsy. If you do not administer rescue treatment for Statis Epilepticus you need only attend the morning session.

Hoarding and Self-Neglect
This one-day interactive course provides delegates with information and guidance on capacity and the legal frameworks relevant to self-neglect, including hoarding. It is targeted at all health and social care professionals who work with people who self-neglect.

Mental Health Awareness
This community-based course is for anyone who works with adults, children and families to raise awareness about mental health and wellbeing at all ages. It covers responding to a person who needs support, the views of people with lived experience, and information on approaches and services.

This course is for professionals who work in mental health, substance misuse, offending, social work, domestic violence, supported housing, young people's services, family work etc. It provides a deeper understanding of skills and knowledge in motivational interviewing.

Moving and Handling Annual Update for Adult Social Care Occupational Therapists
This is a full-day mandatory course for Adult Social Care Occupational Therapists. It needs to be completed annually to meet the expectations of your role as an Occupational Therapist and to adhere to registration requirements.

Oliver McGowan Autism and Learning Disability Training
This two-tier training for professionals who provide direct support will enhance awareness and understanding of autism and learning disabilities. Tier 1 is an e-learning module; Tier 2 is a face-to-face session co-delivered with people who have lived experience.

Personal Independence Payments (PIP)
This course explores the PIP application process, completing self-assessments, understanding benefit interactions, assessment scoring, appeals, and key roles involved. Delivered by James Hennefeld, an experienced social worker and AMHP with expertise in hidden disabilities and PIP access.

This one-day course is for adult social care practitioners and managers. You will explore how strength-based approaches reflect your professional values, are required by the legal framework, and fit with the role of Adult Social Care in the 2020s.
