Reflective Supervision and Leadership Programme 2026
Eligibility: This course is for South Gloucestershire Council adult social care senior practitioners, advanced practitioner and team managers including AWP seconded staff.
This engaging programme emphasises anti-oppressive supervision, aligned with the Post Qualifying Standards for Practice Supervisors. It provides space for critical reflection on your values, approach and impact as a supervisor, while developing practical skills and confidence to strengthen your everyday supervisory practice.
Dementia Simulation
Eligibility: This course is open to everyone working in the locality teams of Adult Social Care.
It is an interactive course to experience the life of a person living with dementia.
Manual Handling (for Rapid Response team)
Eligibility: This course is open to Rapid Responders in Adult Social Care settings
This is a one-day foundation level course for Rapid Responders who are responsible for moving people. The course provides techniques to move adults safely and confidently during the course of your work.

Eligibility: This course is open to anyone working in social care.
This three-hour course will help you to gain knowledge of terminology and legal aspects surrounding medicine administration. The workshop will cover principles, complications and risks associated with administering medications, responsibilities and reporting.
Assessing the Needs of Autistic Adults (for SW practitioners completing assessments under the Care Act 2014)
This course is for practitioners who assess the needs of autistic adults. You must complete the Oliver McGowan Autism and Learning Disability e-learning before attending.
Basic Clinical Skills

This is a half-day mandatory course for Adult Social Care Occupational Therapist Assistants who have responsibility for moving people. It needs to be completed annually to meet the expectations of your role as a Social Care Practitioner (Occupational Therapy).
