Continuing Healthcare, officially called NHS Continuing Healthcare, is a fully-funded package of care that some people are entitled to receive because of disability, accident or illness. It covers the full cost of the person’s care and residential accommodation. NHS Continuing Healthcare funding is available to adults living in England who have particularly intense, complex or unpredictable care needs. Unlike local authority funding, it is not means tested.
This comprehensive course is delivered by Beacon, a social enterprise established in 2014 to provide specialist CHC support services. The course introduces NHS Continuing Healthcare covering a range of topics. The course will equip you with a deeper understanding of the eligibility criteria within the framework of case law. You will learn the key principles of assessment and decision-making to help you to carry out effective assessments using Decision Support Tools. We will explore the importance of detailed and personalised evidence to support recommendations so that you gain confidence in drafting well-founded recommendations.
