Communicating with Children who have a Disability: Capturing their Views and Wishes

This course helps those working with children build creative, flexible communication skills to recognise and value the voices of disabled children. Participants explore non-verbal communication, Alternative and Augmented Communication (AAC) tools, reflective practice, and methods for understanding children’s views to strengthen their influence on care and lived experiences.

Inter-parental conflict between a child’s parents/carers will have a considerable impact on child outcomes. This 2 hour bitesize training course will explore the impact of frequent arguing on children and the resources you can use to support healthy relationships.

Signs of Safety - Creating Safety/ Wellbeing Plans with Families
Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Council staff and Foster Carers using the Signs of Safety approach.
This one-day course is for practitioners from Integrated Children’s Services who work with children, young people, and families with safety or wellbeing concerns. You will learn how to use the Signs of Safety Planning process to develop and record safety/wellbeing plans in Mosaic.
