Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Schools staff working in School-Based Nursery and Reception Classes.
This in-person three part course, run by our team of Early Years Advisors, is open to Reception Teachers and TAs either new to or returning to EYFS, including ECTs. We aim to equip attendees with the skills and knowledge needed to be able to effectively support all children within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Risky Play Outdoors
Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Settings and Schools.
This in-person half day session is a hands-on workshop focused on risk and play outdoors. Discover how nature-based experiences support children's growth, problem-solving, and confidence. The session will provide practical approaches to managing risk while encouraging creativity and exploration in stimulating outdoor environments.

Spotlight on Babies Webinar: Funds of Knowledge - A Collaborative Approach to Working with Families
Eligibility: This course is open to all South Gloucestershire Early Years practitioners.
This virtual one hour webinar for Early Years practitioners will explore strategies for working in partnership with families to support babies learning. This session will introduce the concept of Funds of Knowledge - the rich culture knowledge, skills and experiences that children and families bring with them into early years settings.

Spotlight on Babies Webinar: Serve and Return - Why Interactions Matter
Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Practitioners and Childminders.
This virtual one hour webinar is open to all Early Years staff working with babies who would like to explore the importance of interactions and what quality interactions with babies look like. We will be exploring and reflecting on the concept of serve and return interactions - an essential foundation for early communication, attachment, and brain development.

This virtual one hour webinar is open to early years practitioners who want to gain a deeper understanding of babies sensory needs. It will help to support practitioners in deepening their valuable understanding of babies sensory needs and how these sensory needs can influence babies' behaviour, development and sense of well-being.

The Fundamentals of Working with Babies
Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years Practitioners working in Baby Rooms.
This in-person two part course is open to those who are new to the baby room, returning to the role of in need of a refresher. It will cover the fundamental aspects of working with children 0-2 years old. We will be exploring the latest research and best practice in working with babies.
