This course is the first level of inter-agency child protection training. Together, delegates will explore safeguarding themes. It aims to make sure delegates are confident in understanding what child abuse is and when and how to act on concerns.

This 45-minute workshop from the South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board is for practitioners from all agencies working with adults in South Gloucestershire. Based on learning from local safeguarding adult reviews and local practice guidance this is a practical learning session.

This session educates practitioners on private fostering and their obligations. Recommended for all who work with young people across agencies, to ensure they understand their responsibilities and who to contact for support and guidance regarding safeguarding children.

This 1 hour Bitesize ROTH session is essential for all multi-agency partners working across South Gloucestershire. You will gain an understanding of the term extra-familial harm and an awareness of different types of ROTH that children can experience. The session will cover South Gloucestershire’s agreed response to children vulnerable to or experiencing ROTH and emphasises the importance of mindful language use in this context. There is lots of useful information and resources shared.

This is a 45 minute online session to support professionals to know about, and be able to use peer mapping when there is a concern about Risk Outside the Home.

This course is for anyone who would like an overview of the MARAC process. Topics covered include building an understanding of MARAC, how to refer, and the roles of each person attending the MARAC.

This is a short multi-agency bitesize session, held over Microsoft Teams giving an overview of the use of advocacy that has been commissioned by the Safeguarding Adults Board for professionals from all organisations

This 1.75-day course is for practitioners from all organisations across South Gloucestershire. It promotes effective multi-agency working and a key focus is on person/child-centred practice to promote positive outcomes for people who are affected by domestic abuse.

This course focuses on the importance of effective multi-agency working and best practice in adult safeguarding. We recommend that you complete the Raising Safeguarding Concerns course before you attend this course.

Eligibility: This course is open to anyone working in health and social care.

This one-day course explores adult exploitation and how to identify the different forms it may take. Exploitation can affect different people in various ways. The course will highlight signs  of exploitation and what you can do to help, or minimise the risk, or experience of abuse.

Eligibility: This course is open to practitioners of all agencies who work with Adults in South Gloucestershire.

This one-day interactive course provides delegates with information and guidance on capacity and the legal frameworks relevant to self-neglect, including hoarding. It is targeted at all health and social care professionals who work with people who self-neglect.

Eligibility: This course is open to anyone working with children, adults, or families in South Gloucestershire; Not appropriate for foster carers, parents or guardians

This session raises awareness of young carers, their roles, challenges, and rights. It covers the Young Carers Protocol, support strategies, and identification, led by experienced professionals and a young carer ambassador.

Eligibility: This course is open to front-line care staff.

This course introduces the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) for front-line care staff. You will learn to apply MCA principles at work, understand when the MCA applies, and know when to seek advice and support. Enhance your skills to support individuals effectively and ethically.

Attendees will  explore the ‘What, Why and How’ of professional curiosity., with discussion of the barriers to being curious, challenging and courageous, identify ways to overcome them, and consider how to embed this approach into practice.
