    Eligibility: This course is open to everyone from any organisation working with children and families in South Gloucestershire.

    This 45-minute bitesize exploitation session is essential for all multi-agency partners working across South Gloucestershire. You will gain an understanding of the term extra-familial harm and an awareness of different types of exploitation. The session will cover South Gloucestershire’s agreed response to child exploitation and emphasise the importance of mindful language use in this context.

    This concise multi-agency session provides key information and headlines on responding to child exploitation in South Gloucestershire. Participants will understand the term ‘extra-familial harm’, be aware of the different types of exploitation, and learn about the multi-agency Risk Management Pathway. Additionally, the session will highlight the importance of language and signpost relevant information and resources.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will:

    • Understand the term extra-familial harm.
    • Be aware of the different types of exploitation.
    • Understand how we respond to child exploitation in South Gloucestershire, including the various elements of the multi-agency Risk Management Pathway.
    • Recognise the importance of being mindful of language in the context of child exploitation.
    • Be signposted to relevant information and resources.
