This bitesize course is open to all professionals in education, health, social care, youth services, and those supporting adults where young carers may be present. It provides essential guidance on South Gloucestershire Council’s ‘No Wrong Doors’ protocol to help staff identify young carers, signpost support, and meet statutory responsibilities.
Course OverviewYoung carers may provide over 50 hours of caring a week, it impacts on their health and wellbeing and educational outcomes. 1 in 10 young people are young carers, however most are hidden and are not able to access the vital support they need. Young Carers have a right to, and need better access to, an assessment and support. This course provides a brief overview of the roles young carers undertake and the impact it has on their lives.
