    Eligibility: This course is open to anyone working with children, adults, or families in South Gloucestershire.

    This short, informative workshop, commissioned jointly by the South Gloucestershire Children’s Partnership and Safeguarding Adults Board, is designed to help you understand how Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) operate in South Gloucestershire. It aims to build your confidence in knowing how and when to refer to MARAC, and provides an update on the roles of everyone involved.

    The workshop is free to attend for anyone working with children or adults in South Gloucestershire. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of what MARAC is and who attends, how to refer to MARAC, and when to complete a DASH Risk Assessment. Additionally, you will learn about the role of the MARAC Co-ordinator, the responsibilities of a MARAC representative, and the role of the chair. There will be a presentation from the MARAC Coordinator followed by the opportunity to ask questions.

    This session is an excellent opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills, ensuring you can effectively support those at risk in our community.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will:

    • Understand what MARAC is and who attends.
    • Know how to refer to MARAC.
    • Understand when to complete a DASH Risk Assessment.
    • Be familiar with the role of the MARAC Co-ordinator.
    • Understand the roles of a MARAC representative and the chair.
