Race Awareness - Managers Allyship Scale
Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Council social care managers and seniors.
This final workshop for senior social care staff and managers completes the Managers Allyship Scale by clarifying expectations, reviewing current practice, and identifying needed support so the scale becomes practical, usable, and aligned with future leadership expectations.
Trauma Informed Practice e-module
It provides an overview of trauma and adversity, including types of trauma and their impacts. It explains what Trauma-informed Practice is and the BNSSG model. This training, co-designed by people with lived experience and staff from within organisations across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
Managing Challenging Conversations and Conflict (Childrens and Adults)
This one-day course will support you to develop skills and strategies to confidently engage with others and manage challenging situations and conversations whilst working in the safeguarding and protection arena.
Race Awareness
This course provides a foundational understanding of racism in a simple and non-judgemental way. It explores different forms of racism, how they manifest and affect our black and brown colleagues and actions you can take to support race equity.
Race Awareness for Managers, Senior Practitioners and Senior Social Workers
Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Council social care managers and seniors only.
This course is for managers and seniors who have taken the Race Awareness course. You will gain knowledge and skills to identify, challenge and manage racism, and support victims of racism.
Tackling Inequalities Together: Reflective Practice - LGBTQ+
This reflective session supports those who attended the LGBTQ+ Learning Session. Through group discussion and tools, participants will explore their practice, share insights, and strengthen allyship, in cases involving LGBTQ+, across adult and children’s services teams.
