Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Council social care managers and seniors only.

This course is open exclusively to South Gloucestershire Council employees who have already completed the Race Awareness course.

This engaging course covers a range of important topics, including creating a safe space to share current challenges, handling reports of racism from employees, and developing empathetic and radical listening skills. You'll learn how to avoid gaslighting, understand internal support pathways, and empower line managers to take action using their autonomy.

Participants will gain increased knowledge of internal policies and external support, understand the importance of self-care, and learn how to manage allegations effectively. The course also covers allyship and role model behaviour, identifying and managing racism within teams and social care practice, and encouraging managers to integrate race equality into their team meetings.

Support will be offered to all staff by the trainer and the organisation where needed.
