• Course overview

Eligibility: This course is open to safeguarding professionals from all organisations.

This course is designed for safeguarding professionals from all organisations. It aims to support professional practice in line with recommendations from national and local case reviews.

Many safeguarding practice reviews, relating to the abuse and harm of both children and adults, highlight the need for improved practice, particularly in critical thinking and professional challenge.

It is crucial that multi-agency social care professionals feel supported in their practice and develop skills in this area.

The ability and confidence to ask probing, sometimes uncomfortable questions, share unwelcome news, or challenge others in safeguarding and protection practice can be daunting and affects many professionals working to protect children and adults.

Delegates will engage in scenario-based development, share their experiences, and reflect on and apply their knowledge and skills. This course will enhance professional confidence in managing challenging conversations and conflicts, aiding in the effective use of professional curiosity.

The workshop's facilitative style creates a safe environment to learn and try out new techniques. Attendees will be encouraged to participate individually, in class discussions, and in small group activities.
