Eligibility: This course is open to EYs leaders, early lead teachers & TAs, English subject leaders, KS1 phase leaders and KS1 teachers from any infant or primary school.
This three-session, online network will support all colleagues who wish to develop an exciting communication, language and literacy curriculum to meet the needs of all children in their setting. The sessions will provide an opportunity to engage in the
following activities: share national and local updates; discuss the latest
research in early language and literacy development and pedagogy; consider how
to create a language rich and engaging communication friendly environment and
explore effective practice in the provision of communication, language and
literacy. Over the course of the sessions, delegates will reflect on the
language and literacy needs of the children they teach and will consider how
they can further enhance their early language and literacy provision to ensure
that all children successfully build firm foundations in language and literacy.
As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:
the key aspects of communication, language and literacy development;
how to build firm foundations in early language and literacy;
the latest research in early language and literacy pedagogy and practice.
