• Course overview

Eligibility: This course is open to any teachers in Y2 to Y6 and maths subject leaders in any school.

We still have far too many pupils that do not have instant recall of times tables facts.  This half day, online course will look at the most effective ways to make those multiplication facts stick for all pupils including those with SEND as well as ensuring that pupils have a deep understanding of the concept of multiplication and how to link this to division. It will share success stories from schools as well as exploring the latest research around metacognition and anxiety that effect some pupils around times tables tests and how to address these.

Think back to the days when you were in school and how you were taught times tables and how it made you feel. How many of your pupils are anxious around their tables when tested? What about their parents?

As part of the course, we will also consider home learning of multiplication facts and engagement of parents.
