Crucial Conversations is a practical one-day course that helps managers develop the confidence and skills to hold meaningful workplace conversations that support performance, wellbeing, development and positive working relationships. Drawing on coaching approaches and techniques for handling difficult conversations, the course focuses on creating constructive, solution-focused discussions that help people thrive and succeed at work.
Participants will learn how to prepare for conversations, build trust and rapport, ask effective questions, listen actively, provide constructive feedback and support employees to identify their own solutions. The skills explored can be used in a wide range of situations, from supporting learning and career development, encouraging reflection and growth, and recognising strengths, through to addressing concerns, managing change and resolving workplace challenges.
By the end of the course, managers will be better equipped to use coaching as an everyday management approach, tackle issues early when needed, and create conversations that build capability, engagement and high performance across their teams.
