This two-hour, face to face, introductory session explores the Five to Thrive model and is designed for childminders and leaders who wish to implement it within their settings. The training explains how connected, attuned relationships are fundamental to human wellbeing and essential for building resilience in children and communities. Drawing on recent neuroscience research, it highlights the key message that “people need people” for healthy brain development and lifelong wellbeing.
The Five to Thrive building blocks outline simple, relational activities that support healthy brain growth in young children and help maintain healthy brain function throughout life. Using accessible key words, the model bridges professional understanding of neuroscience with everyday practice. Rooted in attachment and attunement research, it supports practitioners to observe, strengthen and reinforce positive interactions between adults and children.
The session also explores how human connectedness at all life stages supports ongoing brain health. Following the training, participants will have access to a mentor to support the effective implementation of Five to Thrive within their setting.
