Eligibility: This course is open to practitioners working in early years settings and/or supporting autistic young people aged 0-5 in education as part of their role with other service providers in South Gloucestershire.
This 90-minute module is an awareness raising module that introduces autism and the areas of difference, which can include: Social Understanding and Communication, Flexibility, Information Processing and Understanding, and Sensory Processing and Integration, among other things. We explore areas of difference in terms of strengths and support needs and identify some initial reasonable adjustments that need to be considered when supporting autistic children, including the creation and use of a One-Page Profile.
On completion of the course, delegates will receive a Practical Support Pack containing practical tools, templates, top tips, checklists and strategies to use to support autistic children.
