Eligibility: This course is open to managers and practitioners working with toddlers in nurseries and pre-schools across South Gloucestershire.
This 2-hour session explores how babies begin to develop mathematical understanding through everyday experiences and routines.
Drawing on Ofsted’s toolkit, the session supports practitioners to strengthen their knowledge of maths within the curriculum. Through practical examples, it demonstrates how daily moments such as snack times, nappy changes, and play can provide rich opportunities to introduce early mathematical concepts.
The session aims to build confidence in recognising and maximising everyday opportunities to lay strong mathematical foundations and support children’s early development.
