• Course overview

Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire settings and childminders who have had one or more practitioners attend the South Gloucestershire Language Champion training.

This 1 ½ hour Language Champion Network is an ongoing professional development opportunity for practitioners committed to promoting inclusive, neuro-affirming approaches to children’s communication, speech and language development. The course supports Language Champions to continue to build their knowledge, confidence and leadership, enabling them to advocate for language rich environments that value all forms of communication.

The network is grounded in current research and up-to-date knowledge of speech and language development. Learning is shaped by the expertise and values of the early years sector, recognising the importance of trusting relationships, responsive interactions and play based experiences in supporting every child’s communication.

Through collaboration, reflection and shared learning, Language Champions are supported to embed inclusive strategies into everyday practice and share learning with colleagues. The network promotes continuous professional growth and a shared commitment to celebrating diversity, supporting belonging and placing communication at the heart of early years practice.
