    Eligibility: This course is open to headteachers and school leaders from any infant, junior, primary or secondary school.

    The conference will be led by keynote speaker Andrew Cowley. Andrew is the author of The Wellbeing Toolkit (2019), The Wellbeing Curriculum (2021), and The School Mental Health Toolkit (2025), a powerful trilogy published by Bloomsbury Education. These widely respected books offer schools concrete strategies to embed wellbeing into leadership, curriculum, and culture, making Andrew one of the most authoritative voices on mental health in education today.

    Andrew co-founded the Healthy Toolkit blog and X/Twitter account, a pioneering digital platform focused on teacher wellbeing that has shaped attitudes across the education sector. With a loyal and growing audience of educators and school leaders, his thought leadership fosters strategic conversations about empathy, values, and the long-term planning needed for sustainable wellbeing in schools.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • To identify and apply strategies to support Headteachers in managing their well-being, particularly during periods of challenge and change.
    • To integrate well-being principles into school leadership, curriculum design, and organisational culture, promoting a sustainable and supportive environment.
    • To develop and implement whole-school approaches to well-being, ensuring that staff and student mental health is embedded across policies and practices.
