• Course overview

    Eligibility: This course is open to Y4 teachers, maths subject leaders, assessment leaders and check administrators from any junior or primary school.

    This hour online twilight is for any year 4 teacher or check administrator to ensure you are fully up to date with the 2027 statutory guidance for the MTC.  We will take you through all the statutory guidance, including checking registers, creating PINs, access arrangements, and the administration of the check. There will be time to look at teaching strategies and interventions/ catch up tasks to ensure pupils are secure with times tables, specifically focusing on those more difficult times tables to retain the 6,7,8,9 and 12 times tables. We will also look at how pupils can engage with times tables through games and other online activities they can do in school or at home with their parents. Teaching assistants are also welcome if they support pupils with times tables as guide groups or interventions.

    Learning outcomes

    The aims of this course are:

    • To explain the statutory guidance for the multiplication check including access arrangements.
    • To support Y4 teachers with additional teaching strategies and ideas for times tables
    • Time to ask questions and discuss

    The charge for this course or event is: £40
