Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire reception class teachers.
This 2-hour session for Reception class teachers focuses on summative assessment in Reception and supports participants to develop a clearer understanding of how assessment can be used effectively across the school year.
The course will explore practical approaches to assessing and monitoring children’s progress, helping teachers to build an accurate picture of each child’s development and attainment. Participants will consider how assessment information can be used to identify next steps in learning, inform future planning and ensure teaching responds to children’s needs.
By the end of the session, teachers will feel more confident in using summative assessment thoughtfully and purposefully to support children’s progress and strengthen outcomes in Reception.
Please note that two identical sessions are available, but delegates only need to attend one.
