    Course overview

    Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire reception class teachers.

    This 2-hour, face to face session for reception class teachers focuses on the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) and provides an opportunity to deepen understanding of assessment in the reception year. Participants will explore key EYFSP updates and revisit the Early Learning Goals (ELGs). Through practical activities and professional dialogue, the session will support teachers to reflect on effective assessment approaches, develop confidence in making accurate judgements, and strengthen their understanding of expectations at the end of reception. The course is designed to support consistent practice and provide a valuable opportunity to discuss current guidance with colleagues.

    Please note that two identical sessions are available, but delegates only need to attend one.

     

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Understand key updates to the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP)
    • Strengthen understanding of the Early Learning Goals (ELGs) and how they support accurate assessment at the end of Reception.
    • Reflect on effective assessment approaches through practical activities and professional discussion with colleagues.
    • Develop greater confidence in making accurate and consistent judgements about children’s learning and development.
    • Consider how current guidance and shared professional dialogue can support consistency across Reception practice.

    There is a charge of £0 per delegate for this course.  South Gloucestershire reception class teachers only
