Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Early Years leaders, managers and pre-school committee members.
As a manager, recruiting the right people and giving them the best possible start is vital to building a successful, confident team. This interactive course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recruit and induct new staff effectively and safely.
We will explore EYFS safer recruitment requirements and what these mean in practice for you and your setting. You’ll have the opportunity to review and refresh your current recruitment paperwork, including application forms, job descriptions, person specifications, health declarations and reference request templates, ensuring they are fully compliant and fit for purpose.
You’ll also gain practical guidance on creating strong, purposeful interview questions and developing effective interviewing techniques that help you identify the best candidates. Alongside this, the course offers valuable opportunities to network with other settings, share experiences, and learn from examples of best practice - leaving you inspired, confident and ready to apply what you’ve learned straight away.
As a result of this course you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:
· Preparing job descriptions and person specifications
· Knowing where best to advertise your vacancies and what to include in your advert
· Creating application forms that ensure you gather the required information to successfully shortlist
· Understanding of the shortlisting process
· Writing interview questions appropriate to the role, interview techniques and scoring
· Informing unsuccessful applicants
· Onboarding your new recruit
· Induction and probation
· Review
There is a charge of £30 per delegate for this course.
