• Course overview

    Eligibility: This course is open to head teachers, school business managers/leaders and any staff responsible for monitoring the staff pay, from any school using access education budgets.

    This is a two hour session delivered via Teams that will take you through the process of carrying out a payroll reconciliation in access education budgeting.  Evidence of regular reconciliations is an internal audit requirement and ensures your budget is accurate and up to date with changes as and when they happen.

    During the session we will explain and demonstrate:

    • Why carrying out monthly reconciliation is important
    • The impact of not identifying anomalies early
    • How to update staffing in access education budgeting
    • How to carry out the payroll reconciliation function
    • Identifying anomalies
    • Following up on any discrepancies

    We will demonstrate the process in the test system and full guidance notes will be provided after the session.

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • How to update staffing in access education budgets
    • The importance and impact of regular payroll reconciliations
    • How to carry out a payroll reconciliation in access education budgets

    Charges

    The charge for this course or event is: £55 for South Gloucestershire Maintained schools and £75 for any other school.
