• Course overview

    Eligibility: This course is open to Rapid Responders working in Adult Social Care settings.

    This one-day foundation level course is designed for Rapid Responders who are responsible for moving and handling adults as part of their role. It equips participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to move people safely and effectively while maintaining dignity and minimising risk.

    The course develops awareness of posture, spinal alignment and the factors that can contribute to musculoskeletal injury. Participants will gain a clear understanding of safer handling principles, legal responsibilities and the risks associated with unsafe practice.

    This is a practical, hands-on course focusing on real workplace scenarios. It includes the demonstration of practical handling techniques, including the safe use of hoists and team handling. On completion, participants will be better prepared to assess risk, use equipment appropriately and carry out moving and handling tasks safely and confidently.
