Eligibility: This course is open to all CSC and PS Practitioners.
This course builds confidence and consistency in using Signs of Safety, Trauma‑Informed and Systemic approaches. Participants explore how these models complement each other and can be integrated to support effective, relationship‑based practice. Through collaborative learning, discussion and practical activities, the programme develops core knowledge, shows how Trauma‑Informed principles underpin existing frameworks, and demonstrates what integrated practice looks like. By the end, practitioners will understand how to apply these approaches to strengthen reflection, relationships and safer outcomes.
The session introduces a range of tools practitioners can use with families to help them reflect on their own family systems and the challenges they face. Participants are also introduced to appreciative inquiry techniques and will have opportunities to practise using them.
In addition, the course offers an introduction to the Coordinated Management of Meaning (CMM) and the Daisy Model, supporting practitioners to become more intentional in their use of language. These systemic approaches help practitioners explore how communication patterns, personal histories, emotions and beliefs shape interactions. By learning to “look at” communication rather than simply “look through” it, practitioners strengthen their ability to choose words, tone and responses that foster clarity, connection and more effective relationships.
