Eligibility: This course is open to all CSC and PS Practitioners.
This course builds confidence and consistency in using Signs of Safety, Trauma‑Informed and Systemic approaches. Participants explore how these models complement each other and can be integrated to support effective, relationship‑based practice. Through collaborative learning, discussion and practical activities, the programme develops core knowledge, shows how Trauma‑Informed principles underpin existing frameworks, and demonstrates what integrated practice looks like. By the end, practitioners will understand how to apply these approaches to strengthen reflection, relationships and safer outcomes.
This practical, skills‑focused session also develops practitioners’ confidence in analysing risks and worries using the Signs of Safety framework. Through guided teaching, discussion and hands‑on application, participants learn to construct clear, effective Danger Statements that communicate professional worries and form the basis for meaningful safety planning. The course explores what ‘good’ looks like in Danger Statements, Safety Goals and scaling questions, supporting shared understanding, planning and decision‑making. Practitioners will also consider trauma‑informed ways of writing about and communicating concerns relating to a young person.As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:
