    Eligibility: This course is open to business managers and finance staff from any South Gloucestershire maintained school only.

    As part of our Schools Finance Bitesize programme, this short one hour session delivered via Teams will take you through a school's funding certificate.

    A school funding certificate is the formal document issued annually by the local authority to a maintained school, setting out how much funding the school will receive and how that figure has been calculated. It is a key financial governance document and underpins the school’s budget planning. This session will explain:

    • What is included on the certificate
    • The total budget allocation
    • The funding breakdown by formula factor
    • Pupil numbers used as the basis for calculation
    • Why it is important

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Confidence to interpret your schools funding certificate
    • Why it is important as part of your budget building process
