Eligibility: This course is open to business managers and finance staff from any South Gloucestershire maintained school only.
This is a free two hour course delivered via Teams. The aim of this session is to provide School Business Managers with the knowledge and confidence to complete the year-end procedures issued by the Local Authority and Schools Finance.
We will take you through all key dates and deadlines, explain what an accrual is and why is important, and how to account for income and expenditure in the correct financial year.
We will also explain and demonstrate how to complete the associated forms or returns issued by the Schools Finance team and Corporate Finance.
Managing the process accurately and in accordance with the deadlines will ensure that the year-end process runs smoothly, will ensure compliance with audit requirements, and will get you ready for the next financial year.As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:
