• Course overview

Eligibility: This course is open to Y6 teachers from any junior or primary school.

If you have attended Assessment: Statutory Assessment for Y6 Teachers (INT475) on 27th November, you do not need to attend this course

This half day, online training session, fully updated for 2025-26, supports Y6 teachers to make confident, nationally aligned judgements about writing at the end of Key Stage 2. Focused entirely on standardisation, the session offers time to explore benchmarked examples of pupil work and engage in professional dialogue about what constitutes a secure judgement.

Designed as an online alternative to the full-day training, this course explores national exemplification materials and supports teachers to revisit assessment criteria in depth. It is ideal for experienced Y6 teachers who are familiar with statutory processes and who are also attending a twilight briefing to address the administration of statutory assessment.

    Feedback from delegates (2025):

‘Exact explanations that really unpicked the TAF – aided my understanding.’

‘It was really helpful to unpick the ‘I can’ statements to bring understanding to the meaning of each and the differences between WTS, EXS and GDS.’
