    Eligibility: This course is open to headteachers, senior leaders and assessment leaders responsible for statutory assessment in any infant, junior or primary school

    This concise twilight briefing is designed specifically for headteachers and senior leaders to ensure clarity and confidence around statutory assessment requirements for assessment for 2026.

    In just 90 minutes, we’ll summarise the most important updates from the Assessment and Reporting Arrangements (ARA), Test Administration Guidance, and Teacher Assessment Guidance. With a focus on leadership responsibilities, this session will cover key deadlines, statutory duties, and quality assurance expectations—highlighting what headteachers need to know to support their teams and fulfil their statutory role.

    With headteachers legally accountable for the accurate and secure administration of end of key stage assessments, this session will ensure you are fully up to date with the latest requirements, helping you to fulfil your responsibilities with confidence and precisio

    There will be updates on:

    • Y1 Phonics screening check
    • Optional KS1 assessment materials
    • Year 4 Multiplication check
    • KS2 SATS, administration of SATS, access arrangements

    Learning outcomes

    The aims of this course are:

    • To be up to date with the national guidance on KS2 assessment including use of tests.
    • To be up to date with all the national guidance for the Y1 phonics screening check and the optional Year 2 SATs.
    • To be up to date with all the Year 4 Multiplication Check.
    • To discuss effect models of moderation.
    • To have an opportunity to ask questions.
