• Course overview

This course is open to South Gloucestershire Council employees only.

This course is delivered over two separate dates, and attendance at both sessions is required to complete the training. Research and practice consistently demonstrate that Social Workers and Occupational Therapists must have access to regular, high-quality supervision. This is a crucial element for achieving effective practice, providing essential advice and support, and promoting professional resilience and wellbeing. Regular supervision is vital for delivering a high-quality service (DoH 2015, BASW 2013, COT 2015), and this is strongly endorsed by the relevant professional bodies and managers within the Department for People (South Gloucestershire Supervision in Adult Social Care Policy 2021). To fully benefit from this learning opportunity, participants are expected to:

    • Read the agency policy prior to the first workshop.
    • Complete short tasks between workshops to apply ideas and theory to their current supervisory experiences.

Participants will receive electronic materials after each workshop to complement and reinforce the key messages from the sessions. Engage in this valuable process to enhance your professional practice and contribute to the overall quality of service delivery.
