    Eligibility: This course is open to foster carers

    Claire Greenham, WAYPOINT Team Manager, will lead a short introduction to Non-Violent Resistance (NVR). This introductory course offers an opportunity to learn about NVR principles, how they can be used to strengthen relationships, and bring about positive changes in response to trauma. The course will also address common misconceptions about NVR and explore how it integrates with other approaches. The session will start at 10:00 am, with a 30-minute break at 12:00 pm. The session will resume at 12:30 pm and conclude at 2:00 pm. Please note that this is a two-part training course held over two days.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) principles and their applications.
    • Ask specific questions regarding the displays of trauma you are currently supporting.
    • Identify whether discussing additional NVR training opportunities with your Supervising Social Worker, tailored to individual needs, would be appropriate.
