    This course is open to foster carers.

    This course is designed to enhance the recording skills of foster carers, ensuring they are well-equipped to document their caregiving activities effectively

    Purpose:

    • Clarify foster carers’ role in recording. • Make sure foster carers are aware of national and local guidance and best practices in recording. • Provide an opportunity to practise recording skills and reflect on own practice. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the importance of accurate and detailed record-keeping in fostering. The course will cover essential guidelines and best practices, offering practical exercises to help carers improve their recording skills. By reflecting on their own practices, carers can identify areas for improvement and ensure they meet the required standards.     • What information needs to be documented.
    • Who reads the records and why.
    • How to manage information effectively.
    • How to deal with information you suspect is inaccurate.
    • What information to provide about children and young people.
    • Record-keeping policies.
    • How your recording contributes to good practice and improves outcomes for children and young people.
    • This course meets the evidence requirements for the following standards: Standard 1: 3a, 4a; Standard 4: 1a, 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d, and Standard 6: 1a.
