To attend, you must have approval to provide a placement and confirmation that you are working at the Experienced level of the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF). Additionally, you must be post-qualified for at least two years from the start of the placement.
Day four focus: roles and responsibilities of Practice Educators.
On this final day, we identify where and how students struggle in placements and explore support and opportunities available to help them stay on track to pass. We consider the roles and responsibilities of Practice Educators when students struggle to meet placement requirements. We will identify common challenges, explore support strategies, and clarify your role in various situations, including when a student is at risk of failing.
Through practical scenarios, we will work through the action plan process and cover the role of the Practice Education Lead during placement challenges. We will revisit the PEPS portfolio, discussing requirements, upcoming tasks, and arrangements for the direct observation of supervision.
This day aligns with the Domain D requirements of the BASW Practice Education Professional Standards (PEPS).
