• Course overview



    Eligibility: This course open to people who work and live in South Gloucestershire.

    This interactive one-day workshop provides a practical and insightful introduction to mental health and wellbeing. You’ll learn to recognise early signs of mental health decline and use our A.C.T.© action plan to offer appropriate support—both in emergencies and for longer-term solutions.

    The course covers common mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression, explores stress, stigma, recovery, self-care, and more. It’s ideal for anyone working with children or adults.

    Upon completion, you’ll be certified as a Mental Wellbeing Supporter in the workplace. Delegates receive a resource pack including a combined workbook/manual, A.C.T.© card lanyard, badge, and e-certificate.

    Please note: A £20 fee for the course manual is required. We will contact you to arrange payment.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Understand key concepts of mental health and wellbeing.
    • Identify early signs of mental health challenges in others.
    • Apply the A.C.T.© action plan to provide appropriate support.
    • Promote positive mental health and challenge stigma.

    Charges

    There is a charge of £20 for the manual, for South Gloucestershire Council staff this will be charged internally. When you sign up you'll be able to book your place. We will contact you to arrange payment until we are ready to accept online payments.
