• Course overview

Eligibility: This course is open to everyone from any organisation working with disabled children in South Gloucestershire.

This course, commissioned by the South Gloucestershire Children's Partnership, is designed for professionals from all organisations. It draws on insights from Safeguarding Practice Reviews and the experiences of disabled children themselves. Research consistently shows that disabled children are more than 3.5 times more likely to experience harm and abuse than their non-disabled peers.

This course provides an in-depth examination of the lives of disabled children and the factors that increase their risk of harm. Participants will develop their professional curiosity regarding the lived experiences of disabled children and learn how to promote effective safeguarding practices.
