    Eligibility: This course is open to South Gloucestershire Council social care employees only.

    This introduction to Learning and Development, following the Council Induction session, is a valuable part of the new starter's induction programme for all practitioners in Adult and Children Social Care. We focus on how Learning and Development can support you in your new role and advance your career at South Gloucestershire Council. The children, families, and adults we work with need us to be the best we can be, and that starts with our Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

    Please note: If you are an existing member of staff who has not previously attended a council induction or the Learning and Development welcome session, and believe this session would benefit you, you can request a place on this induction

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of the induction you will:

    • Have explored how we learn in the workplace.
    • Understand how your Learning and Development journey aligns to the Council Plan, Council Values and creates positive outcomes for people we support.
    • Know how to access Learning and Development opportunities to support your career progression with South Gloucestershire Council.
