• Course overview

Eligibility: This course is open to anyone working with children, adults, or families in South Gloucestershire.

Commissioned by the Children's Partnership, this course is designed for professionals who work with children, young people, and families in South Gloucestershire.

The ability and confidence to demonstrate professional curiosity, courage, and challenge are essential for success, whether working alone as a single agency professional or as part of a multi-agency team.

Many child safeguarding practice reviews, relating to the abuse and harm of both children and adults, highlight the need for improved practice, particularly in critical thinking and professional challenge. The Children's Partnership has identified the need for professionals to feel supported in their practice and to develop skills in this area.

This workshop offers delegates the opportunity to engage in scenario-based development, share their experiences, and reflect on and apply their knowledge and skills. Trainer-led debriefing and facilitation will allow delegates to explore the ‘what, why, and how’ of professional practice in this area.

The workshop's facilitative style creates a safe environment to learn and try out new techniques. Attendees will be encouraged to fully participate in individual, class, and small group discussions.
