Eligibility: This course is open to council social care practitioners and managers only.

In this one-day session, we will delve into the theoretical foundations of strengths-based approaches, both current and historical. Delegates will have the opportunity to share examples from their own practice, while also exploring the use and benefits of strengths-based questions and interventions. These techniques will be examined in the context of assessment, care and support planning, review, and adult safeguarding conversations with adults and carers, with a focus on promoting wellbeing, achieving positive outcomes, and finding creative solutions to meet needs. The session aims to provide you with a consistent set of underpinning knowledge, enhancing your skills and confidence in applying a strengths-based approach in your practice.
